Back when Erik was 15 years old and starting to dance, he always loved the black and white shoes of many jazz and tap dancers. During college, Erik purchased pair of black and white shoes. As his first America Online screen name, Erik chose "ENSpats."

Around 1998, Erik decided to change his online identity to reflect his new dance passion, Swing dancing. He decided on the name SwingShoes as a unique online-name that would embrace the dance that he loved and the black and white shoes which he wore early in his dance career.

Ironically, SwingShoes Entertainment has never sold shoes even though this is a constant google search reason why people end up on this web site. Although shoes are not sold by SwingShoes Entertainment, there is a web page on this site devoted to recommended footwear for Hustle and West Coast Swing.
